Iraq Celebrates Record Wheat Harvest

The General Company for Grain Trade has announced a record-breaking harvest of wheat.

According to a statement from the Ministry's media office, the company's Director General, Dr. Haider Al-Karaawi, reported a historic season with the receipt of 6.302 million tons of wheat. This achievement reflects significant efforts towards self-sufficiency and enhancing the country's food security.

The statement highlighted that this success resulted from collective efforts and fruitful cooperation between various government and private entities, along with the dedicated work of all company employees. Their efforts ensured the season's success and the achievement of its goals.

Dr. Al-Karaawi emphasized that this accomplishment was made possible by substantial support from the Prime Minister in implementing strategic plans, along with supervision and backing from the Minister of Trade. Contributions from the Ministries of Agriculture and Finance, the Joint Operations Command, and National Security, as well as support from provincial governors, were also crucial.

He noted that this season marks the beginning of a series of future successes that will bolster the company's position and contribute to the nation's food security.
