The UK's Department for Business and Trade has said that total trade in goods and services (exports plus imports) between the UK and Iraq was £1.1 billion in the four quarters to the end of Q1 2024, an increase of 14.2% or £140 million in current prices from the four quarters to the end of Q1 2023.
Of this £1.1 billion:
- Total UK exports to Iraq amounted to £795 million in the four quarters to the end of Q1 2024 (an increase of 12.9% or £91 million in current prices, compared to the four quarters to the end of Q1 2023);
- Total UK imports from Iraq amounted to £330 million in the four quarters to the end of Q1 2024 (an increase of 17.4% or £49 million in current prices, compared to the four quarters to the end of Q1 2023).
Iraq was the UK's 86th largest trading partner in the four quarters to the end of Q1 2024 accounting for 0.1% of total UK trade.
