Iran and Iraq sign 14 Memoranda of Understanding

Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani met today with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mr. Masoud Pezeshkian, at the Governmental Palace in Baghdad.

This meeting marked the beginning of President Pezeshkian's official visit to Baghdad, during which various topics of mutual interest were discussed, aiming to enhance cooperation and partnership between the two countries.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Al-Sudani welcomed President Pezeshkian, noting that this was his first official foreign visit since taking office.

The two leaders signed 14 memorandums of understanding in various fields:

  1. Joint Memorandum of Understanding on Training Cooperation.
  2. Joint Memorandum of Understanding on Iraqi-Iranian Youth and Sports Cooperation.
  3. Joint Memorandum of Understanding on Iraqi-Iranian Cultural, Artistic, and Archaeological Exchange.
  4. Joint Memorandum of Understanding on Educational Cooperation.
  5. Joint Memorandum of Understanding on Iraqi-Iranian Media Cooperation.
  6. Joint Memorandum of Understanding on Telecommunications Cooperation.
  7. Joint Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Religious Tourism.
  8. Joint Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Iraqi-Iranian Free Trade Zones.
  9. Joint Memorandum of Understanding on Iraqi-Iranian Agriculture and Natural Resources Cooperation.
  10. Joint Memorandum of Understanding on Postal Cooperation.
  11. Joint Memorandum of Understanding on Social Protection Cooperation.
  12. Joint Memorandum of Understanding on Professional and Vocational Training.
  13. Joint Memorandum of Understanding on Skilled Workforce Development Cooperation between Iraq and Iran.
  14. Joint Memorandum of Understanding on Iraqi-Iranian Chamber of Commerce Cooperation.
