Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani has officially opened the Iraqi-Korean Critical Care Specialty Hospital at Baghdad Medical City.
The newly inaugurated hospital, described as the first of its kind in Iraq, consists of four floors with a capacity of 74 beds, three operating theaters equipped with the latest medical devices, and an advanced center for cardiac and neurological catheterization, as well as two surgical microscopes.
It is equipped with over 2,250 medical devices, including advanced endoscopic equipment for the gastrointestinal system, 17 machines for kidney failure patients, recovery and isolation units, a state-of-the-art laboratory, a pharmaceutical warehouse, a blood bank, CT and MRI scanners, and advanced radiology systems.
The Minister of Health said that during the government's two years in office, it has completed 13 new hospitals, 3 specialized centers, 2 burn centers, and 25 kidney treatment centers, adding that an additional to 16 hospitals are currently under construction.
