Iraq and Egypt have signed multiple Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) under the patronage of Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani and Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly during the third session of the Iraq-Egypt Joint Higher Committee in Baghdad.
The agreements cover a range of sectors, including:
- Transport - Land transport of passengers and goods.
- Economic Regulation - Enhancing competition and combating monopolistic practices.
- Local Development - A proposed cooperation protocol.
- Urban Administration - Collaboration between Baghdad Municipality and Cairo Governorate.
- Cultural Heritage - Cooperation on antiquities and museums.
- Quality Standards - Standardization and quality control.
- Financial Oversight - Regulatory cooperation between securities commissions.
- Cultural Exchange - A 2025-2027 executive program.
- Archives and Libraries - Exchange between national archives and libraries.
- Telecommunications - Collaboration in telecom and IT regulation.
- Agriculture - Construction and operation of grain silos.
- Trade and Investment - Cooperation between the chambers of commerce.
These agreements strengthen economic, cultural, and regulatory ties between Iraq and Egypt, fostering deeper bilateral cooperation.
