Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani has laid the foundation stone for the Al-Nasiriyah Combined-Cycle Power Plant Project in Dhi Qar Province.
The 921-megawatt facility, powered by natural gas, is being built by Germany's Siemens and Turkish firm Enka on the site of the existing Al-Nasiriyah Steam Power Plant.
The project aims to enhance Iraq's electricity generation capacity and includes future potential for hydrogen blending technology.
