Work Starts at Bridge Project in Maysan

Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani has laid the foundation stone for the Dur Al-Naft Concrete Bridge and its approaches in Maysan [Missan] Governorate. The event was attended by Eng. Abdul Razzaq Al-Maliki, Director General of Al-Hamurabi State Construction Company, representing the Ministry of Construction, Housing, Municipalities and Public Works.

The project is part of the Government Programme aimed at improving infrastructure and enhancing public services in the province. It is considered a strategic and vital initiative, designed according to high-quality engineering specifications and modern standards to ensure smooth traffic flow and reduce congestion within the city.

The bridge will measure 1,154 metres in length and 22.75 metres in width, comprising eight spans and 72 piers. It will be executed under the supervision of the Directorate of Roads and Bridges by Al-Hamurabi State Construction Company.

Works include the complete construction of the concrete bridge structure, main and cross girders, lighting systems, paving and surfacing of the approaches, and the installation of rainwater drainage networks.
