The State Company for Construction Industries, part of Iraq's Ministry of Industry and Minerals, has announced the launch of production at the Baghdad Brick Plant following a comprehensive rehabilitation and modernisation programme carried out with private-sector participation.
The plant's Turkish-origin production line has been upgraded with modern industrial technologies and converted to a fully automated operating system. New kilns have also been installed using modern firing systems designed to comply with environmental standards.
According to the company, the facility began production in October 2025 with an annual capacity of:
- 30 million building bricks under the "Baghdad Energy" brand;
- 12 million façade bricks (Jafqeem) used for building cladding.
The bricks are produced in accordance with Iraqi standard specifications and are intended to support construction and reconstruction projects.
The company said its products are already being supplied to residential complex projects in Anbar, Karbala and Baghdad provinces, as well as directly to citizens, as part of efforts to strengthen the use of locally manufactured construction materials.
