A second aluminium extrusion plant has begun operations at Ur State Company, a subsidiary of the Ministry of Industry and Minerals, producing thin and medium-gauge aluminium sections.
According to Ur General Company, the plant was built using the company's own resources and is equipped with the latest international technology. Key specifications include:
- Annual production capacity exceeding 4,000 tonnes
- Output covering aluminium sections in a full range of sizes
- Pricing described as competitive with the local market
Haider Sahr Al-Husainawi, Director General of the company, said the new facility complements the existing first extrusion plant, as well as anodising and casting workshops that supply raw materials and produce coloured aluminium sections.
He added that the second plant would create an integrated production process, strengthening the company's position as a specialist manufacturer of aluminium products including sections, sheets, and panels under a "Made in Iraq" designation.
