A study on the properties and applications of zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO NPs) has been published in a Scopus-listed international journal by researchers from Iraq's Ibn al-Baytar Research Centre, part of the Industrial Research and Development Board under the Ministry of Industry and Minerals, in collaboration with a number of Iraqi and international universities.
The paper, titled "The anticancer, antioxidant, and antimicrobial properties of zinc oxide nanoparticles: A comprehensive review", appears in TransMed, a Q2 Scopus journal published by KeAi.
According to the Industrial Research and Development Board, the study examines the biomedical properties of ZnO NPs, including:
- Synthesis methods and physical and chemical characterisation of the nanoparticles
- Applications in cancer treatment, oxidative stress management, and infection control
- The effect of particle size and shape on biological efficacy and therapeutic performance
The Board said the publication reflects its focus on applied research and international scientific collaboration.
