General Company for the Pharmaceutical Industry and Medical Supplies in Samarra, a subsidiary of the Ministry of Industry and Minerals, has begun preparatory work on a new antiseptics factory at its medical syringe plant site in Babylon, under a partnership agreement with private-sector firm Al-Riyadah Al-Wataniyah Company.
The factory, to be branded Hygisoft, will produce a range of antiseptic and disinfectant products for use in surgical theatres, intensive care units, medical devices, and pharmaceutical production environments, as well as hand, skin, and surface sanitisers. Infrastructure works are being carried out in accordance with technical plans approved by the Ministry of Health.
Director-General Mohammed Abd al-Qadir said the pace of work was accelerating and that the project remained on schedule to move into production phases.
