Iraq's Ministry of Planning held the seventh meeting on Tuesday of the committee overseeing preparations for the Fourth Arab Summit for Entrepreneurship, which is due to be hosted in Iraq in November.
According to the Ministry of Planning, the meeting was chaired by Deputy Minister of Planning for Technical Affairs Dr. Maher Hammad Jawhan and reviewed the minutes of the previous meeting, covering procedures for announcing the summit, the mechanism for selecting the executing company, and the work of the sponsors' committee.
The meeting also considered comments from the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) on a joint press statement and an introductory brochure for sponsors and the strategic partner.
Committee members reviewed the results of an evaluation of companies, scored against technical and financial criteria, and recommended the most suitable company based on those results. Members also examined lists of potential sponsors put forward by the committee, agreeing a final list along with names and addresses following approval of updated amounts in the brochure.
The General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers presented an initial plan for the work of a media committee. The meeting also reviewed a response from the Federal Board of Supreme Audit (FBSA) nominating a representative to attend meetings of Order Committee No. 29 of 2026.
The meeting was attended by Ali al-Dabbagh, representing the Executive Secretary of ESCWA, a number of directors general, and representatives of the Prime Minister's office, the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, and the Ministries of Planning, Foreign Affairs, Migration and Displaced, Youth and Sport, Culture, Trade, Agriculture, and Higher Education and Scientific Research. The Central Bank of Iraq (CBI), the National Investment Commission (NIC) and the Communications and Media Commission were also represented.
