Iraq's investment climate and the obstacles facing it were discussed at a meeting between President Nizar Aamidi and National Investment Commission (NIC) Chairman Adel Dakhil Muhammad al-Yasiri at the Palace of Peace in Baghdad on Thursday.
President Aamidi stressed the importance of simplifying procedures, providing guarantees for investors, and building a genuine partnership between state institutions and the private sector to make Iraq an attractive investment destination and create long-term opportunities.
He also emphasised the need to direct Iraq's investment opportunities towards projects that develop key sectors, improve services, support economic activity, and generate employment.
Al-Yasiri presented an overview of plans and programmes being prepared to develop investment activity, and affirmed his commitment to removing obstacles and streamlining procedures in line with the government's goals of economic diversification and development.
