Sinopec (China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation) has awarded a Marine Warranty Survey (MWS) contract to New Wave Offshore Energy in support of the Associated Gas Upstream Project (AGUP) Phase 2 in southern Iraq, part of the Gas Growth Integrated Project (GGIP) operated by TotalEnergies alongside its partners Basra Oil Company (BOC) and QatarEnergy.
Under the contract, the US-based company will provide Marine Warranty Surveyor services for the international transportation and shipment of line pipe packages and related project materials for the AGUP Phase 2 development package.
The scope covers marine transportation engineering, shipment procedures, load-out and load-in operations, transportation routing, weather criteria, and marine transportation risk management for cargoes originating from multiple international supply locations.
AGUP Phase 2 relates to the redevelopment of the Ratawi field, which was launched in September 2025. It is expected to increase production to 210,000 barrels per day by 2028.
