A second meeting of the Iraq-Egypt Joint Technical Committee for the implementation of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on freight and passenger transport has taken place in Baghdad.
The Iraqi side was led by Karim al-Jabri, Director General of the Technical Department at the Ministry of Transport, while the Egyptian side was led by Diya al-Din Mustafa Youssef, Chief Executive of Egypt's authority for regulating domestic and international transport.
The meeting, held in accordance with directions from Minister of Transport Wahab Salman Mohammed, discussed mechanisms for regulating the entry of trucks and freight movement between the two countries, as well as arrangements for passenger transport. Participants also addressed outstanding points of disagreement and the procedural requirements needed to activate the MoU's provisions.
