Tanker Struck by Projectile off Southern Iraq

A tanker was reportedly struck by an unknown projectile approximately 30 nautical miles south-east of Al Faw, Iraq.

According to the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO), the crew are safe and no damage or environmental impact has been reported.

UKMTO issued Warning 180-26 on 20 October 2026, noting the report was received on a time-late basis from the vessel's master. Vessels transiting the area are advised to proceed with caution and report any suspicious activity to UKMTO while authorities investigate.
