Fahd Al Hammadi, Chairman of the Federation of Arab Contractors, has called upon more Arab businessmen and entrepreneurs to engage in the reconstruction of Iraq.
At a conference in Amman over the weekend, Hammadi noted,
“Currently, there are opportunities for investing in projects worth around $22 billion in Iraq in infrastructure and many other fields. Arabs need to do more to engage in the process of rebuilding Iraq.”
Iraq's Ambassador to Jordan, Safia Al Souhail, noted how effective reconstruction was key to fighting terrorism, and also remarked how Jordan's extensive experience in the construction sector could benefit Iraq. Jordan's Minister of Housing and Public Works, Sami Halaseh, was also at the conference and concurred with Al Souhail's remarks.
