Basra's Governor, Shaltagh Aboud, signed a contract with France’s Schneider Electric on Tuesday, to build 8 power plants in the province at a reported cost of $29 million.
“The projects will be implemented in cooperation with an Iraqi partner in various areas in Basra,” a media source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
