Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi has reportedly announced a cabinet reshuffle and three days of national mourning, following the recent protests during which more than 110 people were killed.
Reuters quotes him as telling a news conference: "We will ask parliament to vote tomorrow [Thursday] on changes to ministries".
According to press reports, Suha Khalil has been appointed as Minister for Education, a position previously vacant.
Jaafar Sadiq Allawi has been appointed as Minister for Health, replacing Ala Al Alwan [Elwan], whose previous attempts to resign had been rejected by the Prime Minister.
