The UK's Department for Business and Trade has said that total trade in goods and services (exports plus imports) between the UK and Iraq was £1.1 billion [$1.38 billion] in the four quarters to the end of Q2 2023, an increase of 54.2% or £391 million in current prices from the four quarters to the end of Q2 2022.
Of this £1.1 billion:
- Total UK exports to Iraq amounted to £763 million in the four quarters to the end of Q2 2023 (an increase of 51.4% or £259 million in current prices, compared to the four quarters to the end of Q2 2022);
- Total UK imports from Iraq amounted to £349 million in the four quarters to the end of Q2 2023 (an increase of 60.8% or £132 million in current prices, compared to the four quarters to the end of Q2 2022).
Iraq was the UK's 88th largest trading partner in the four quarters to the end of Q2 2023, accounting for 0.1% of total UK trade.
