Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' Al Sudani inaugurated the second specialized workshop to support the private industrial construction sector.

During the event, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Trade Bank of Iraq (TBI) and the German Export Credit Agency to finance private sector development projects under the government's sovereign guarantee initiative.

Additionally, a letter of authorization was signed between TBI and German banks Commerzbank and AKA Bank to finance the construction of a flat glass factory in Najaf, worth 110 million euros ($120 million).

The Prime Minister toured an exhibition showcasing products from the private industrial sector, praising efforts to supply construction materials. He emphasized the government's support for the industrial sector, aiming to remove obstacles hindering this vital sector, which serves as a key driver of the economy and helps address unemployment by creating job opportunities.

Al Sudani noted that the Ministry of Industry, industrialists, and all necessary decisions from the Council of Ministers are being implemented, with eight projects already underway thanks to sovereign guarantees supporting the private sector.
