Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani chaired a meeting to follow up on the Baghdad Metro project, announcing the selection of the Vaskhod & Wontert Capital international consortium for the design, implementation, operation, maintenance, financing, and transfer of ownership (DBOMFT) of the metro.
According to a statement from the Prime Minister's office, the consortium includes French, Spanish, and Turkish companies, along with a German bank.
State-run Iraqi News Agency (INA) said, "The coalition includes the French groups Systra and SNCF, the Spanish companies Alstom, Talgo, and SENER, Turkish companies specializing in construction, in addition to the German Deutsche Bank."
Al-Sudani highlighted the strategic importance of this large-scale project for Baghdad, emphasizing its alignment with the latest global standards and its role in future urban development.
