$3m Peace and Stability Project for Sinjar

By John Lee.

Iraq and the United Nations signed an agreement for a $3 million peace and stability project in Sinjar, sponsored by the Iraqi Ministry of Planning and funded by the UN.

The initiative, implemented by three UN agencies-UN Development Programme (UNDP), the International Organization for Migration (IOM), and UN Women-aims to support Sinjar's recovery through infrastructure development, training, and social cohesion.

This project is part of broader UN efforts to help Iraq rebuild Sinjar and other areas affected by ISIS, promoting long-term stability in the region.
