The Office of the Prime Minister, in collaboration with the Iraqi Private Banks League (IPBL), Baghdad Municipality, and the Ministry of Culture, has announced the launch of the third phase of the "Baghdad Pulse" initiative, aimed at rehabilitating Al-Rasheed [Al Rashid] Street (pictured, 2008), one of Iraq's oldest and most historically significant streets.
This phase focuses on restoring the street's architectural heritage, improving infrastructure, and revitalizing its economic and cultural significance. The project aligns with Baghdad's designation as the Arab Tourism Capital for 2025, supporting heritage tourism, attracting investments, and enhancing the city's urban environment.
According to a statement from the Prime Minister's office, the initiative is part of the government's strategy to strengthen public-private partnerships in urban development. Iraqi private banks have played a key role in funding rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts.
Authorities have urged civil society organizations and stakeholders to participate in ensuring the initiative's success. The government has reaffirmed its commitment to providing necessary resources, recognizing the project's role in boosting economic growth, tourism, and cultural heritage preservation.
