New Sustainable Residential Development in Najaf

By John Lee.

Dar Al Omran Rasem Badran (DAO-Badran) has unveiled its latest architectural project in Iraq.

Developed in partnership with Al Ghadeer and BMC, Budoor Al-Najaf seeks to establish a human-centred, culturally integrated and environmentally resilient community in Najaf.

Spanning approximately 50 hectares [123 acres], the development will house more than 1,400 homes available in four sizes: 160, 200, 250 and 400 square metres.

The project will also include a central market, schools, mosque, clinics and entertainment facilities.

A spokesperson for the company told Iraq Business News:

"The master plan of Budoor Al-Najaf integrates traditional authenticity with modern functionality, inspired by Najaf's historical city planning but interpreted in a contemporary style.

"The development [is] structured around a central urban square and clustered neighborhoods, mirroring the historic urban formation of Najaf.

"This central area, featuring a mosque and main urban amenities, serves as a community focal point, fostering social interactions and connectivity."

The first phase of Budoor Al-Najaf is expected to be completed by the end of 2026.
