Update on Internal Displacement in Iraq

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) have published an update on internal displacement in Iraq.

Overview

  • 1,031,475 internally displaced persons (IDPs) remain displaced across Iraq.
  • 101,886 IDPs are living in 20 formal IDP camps located in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
  • In Dohuk Governorate and Zakho Administration, 19,329 IDP families (92,616 individuals) remain in 15 camps.
  • In Erbil Governorate, 1,063 families (5,367 individuals) continue to reside in two camps.
  • In East Mosul, 777 families (3,903 individuals) remain in three camps.
