Iraq's Ministry of Planning has held a joint meeting with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to discuss the development plan for Sinjar district in Nineveh governorate.
According to the Ministry of Planning, the meeting covered the economic and developmental aspects of the Sinjar plan, and the process by which the Ministry would supply UNDP with the data and information required by its expert team. Participants also agreed to continue meetings with relevant government bodies, and called on UNDP to present the projects and programmes of international agencies directed at Sinjar district.
Attendees included a number of director-generals from the Ministry, representatives of the Statistics and Geographic Information Board, representatives of the Prime Minister's office, and delegates from the UNDP office, as well as staff from the Ministry's International Cooperation, Sector Planning, and Regional and Local Development departments.
