Yolk Brands Expands into Iraq with 15 Restaurant Plan

By John Lee.

Yolk Brands, the UAE-based hospitality group behind Pickl and BonBird, has reportedly announced its expansion into Iraq under a new agreement with Al Maysarah Holding.

The agreement provides for the opening of five Pickl restaurants and ten BonBird outlets.

The first locations are scheduled to open in Q2 2026 at Iraq Mall in Baghdad.

Yolk Brands is entering the Iraqi market through its existing regional partnership with Al Maysarah Holding, which also operates the brands in Jordan. The move forms part of Yolk Brands' broader Middle East expansion strategy, ahead of planned entry into Europe and Asia.

Pickl operates in the fast-casual segment, while BonBird focuses on fried chicken concepts. The company stated that both brands will be positioned to serve Iraq's growing urban dining market, targeting younger consumers and experience-led demand.

Yolk Brands said Iraq represents a strategic next step in its regional growth plans, building on its portfolio of UAE-born hospitality concepts.
