A delegation of Turkish business leaders has met Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi in Baghdad to discuss bilateral economic and investment cooperation.
The delegation was led by Lütfi Elvan, former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Treasury and Finance of Turkey.
According to the Prime Minister's Office, al-Zaidi invited Turkish companies to take advantage of investment opportunities in Iraq, highlighting a number of sectors including:
- Airport construction and operation
- Railway projects under the Development Road project
- A metro line linking Najaf and Karbala provinces
- Thermal power stations and solar energy projects
- Dam construction and agricultural development
Elvan expressed the readiness of major Turkish companies to enter the Iraqi market, citing growing confidence in Iraq's investment environment.
