The General Company for Iraq Ports has called on the government to contribute to Al Faw Grand Port which is expected to be implemented by foreign companies and to guarantee that these companies will not control the port.
The Company Chairman Salah Khaddir said that such a step would ensure the future by imposing sovereignty on the port and would prevent the companies from controlling it.
The Iraqi government is expected to sign a contract with foreign companies to work on the project of Al Faw Grand Port at the end of the contract with Italian companies currently studying the soil at the project location and setting the architectural blueprints.
