New Air Routes between Iraq and Germany

Air Berlin, Germany's second-largest airline, has announced the start of direct flights from Munich, while  rival Lufthansa will operate a direct route to Iraq from next summer.

According to a statement issued by Air Berlin on Saturday, flights will run every two weeks to Erbil and Sulaymaniyah in north of the country.

Meanwhile, Lufthansa announced the resumption of direct flights from Germany to Baghdad starting next summer, after a 20-year suspension.

Air France has also announced it was considering the possibility of resuming direct flights to Baghdad, which have been suspended since the first Gulf War.
