Since the start of the year, the Kurdistan Ministry of Planning has blacklisted seven local companies, an official said on Tuesday, according to AKnews.
Ayyub Galali, head of companies classification at the ministry, told the agency that housing companies in the three provinces of Erbil, Sulaimaniya and Dohuk, have been penalized for shortcomings in their projects or failure to complete them on time.
Companies found to be in violation will be penalized through not being allows to begin any new projects for a period of between six months to two years.
The report does not name the companies.
In the past two years, 35 other local and two foreign companies were also reportedly blacklisted.
