By John Lee.
We get many enquiries at Iraq Business News relating to the future of the Iraqi dinar (IQD), for example:
- Will the Iraqi dinar increase in value?
- Will the currency be re-denominated, dropping the 'three zeros'?
- Is it wise to buy Iraqi dinar?
Firstly, Iraq Business News is not in a position to give investment advice. Our mission is to provide our readers with the highest quality information on the business and economy of Iraq.
As the value of the Iraqi dinar affects trade, we will continue to report on any possible re-valuations and/or redenominations as soon as information is available.
We hope that this information will be useful to the key decision-makers in Iraqi business, and to all who are interested in the development of the country; gamblers and people involved in get-rich-quick schemes/scams are not our target readership.
It's clear from the correspondence we receive that some people, who like to think of themselves as 'investors', genuinely believe that at the stroke of a pen they will make a 1,000-fold return on their purchase of dinars.
Those people might like to consider some questions before putting any further funds at risk: Read more ...

"Fact" finder - "…..It appears appropriate to give up this juvenile argument unless someone can address the entire situation from a position of FACT!"
OMG, can you believe this guy? "Addressing it from a position of FACT" is exactly what everyone else *except* YOU and 4aprofit have been doing! Talk about Orwellian "turnspeak" propaganda... LOL. Go back and re-read your past half dozen posts objectively - there's nothing there but frantic attempts to shut everyone else up masquerading as "I'm a neutral truthseeker, honest!". You haven't posted a single fact (in fact you've actively run away every time you've been asked) - just ranted at other people whilst ironically telling others not to rant at other people because you're "above that"... LOL.
"Fact" finder -"Based on the responses, it is obvious that this thread is hijacked by shills and trolls with an agenda."
ROFL! And now after telling everyone "the insults need to stop", you start throwing around your own paranoia-fueled insults... You can't even see your own hypocrisy, can you?
As John said, IBN isn't like those stupid "conspiracy" sites that you hang out, where you can throw anything you want to believe in out there and demand 'merit' just for "sharing" your personal fantasy, yet despite that, the fact every other "big picture" conspiracy claim (eg, NESARA's "40 zeroes of gold" claim (more gold than would fit in the entire cubic volume of the solar system several times over), 4aprofits equally ridiculous "the $80tn global economy is so bad that everyone will be given "$10bn per person which works out to $70,000,000tn (ie, 875,000x global economies worth) of money just lying around without magically causing inflation in the currencies the money is printed" claim, etc) has been totally shot down and debunked should tell you something and the need for you to "keep it real" or end up being seen as a total fact-less crackpot like 4ap...
"Argument from ignorance, also known as argumentum ad ignorantiam or "appeal to ignorance" (where "ignorance" stands for: "lack of evidence to the contrary"), is a fallacy in informal logic. It asserts that a proposition is true because it has not yet been proven false, it is "generally accepted" (or vice versa), etc.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argument_from_ignorance
This is precisely where you are going wrong "FactFinder". Demanding everyone else "anti-prove a negative" in a failed attempt to defend a conspiracy for which you have zero positive proof and emotionally lash-out when asked to produce one single fact, then project all your own faults onto everyone else with "Turnspeak" propaganda, is actually the most "juvenile" argument of all on this board...
John's post was spot on - and obviously hit a raw nerve!
Don't quit writing boys...make more books...libraries actually...fill em up'...but, eventually we will see who is right or wrong...that's what brings us all back into the fight...as no one knows..or do they?...lol...
I bet 4aprofit is a secret CIA operative 🙂
Iraq Investor: "I bet 4aprofit is a secret CIA operative"
Well he wouldn't make a particularly good secret service agent if thinks the President is in jail and only he "knows" about it because he read it on the Internet... 🙂
Boy, you guys know how to twist things around and put words of your own out there as though it's others saying it...why sooo much worry over this.....get some rest...just because I got some dinar...it truly is amazing...this just makes me want more...lol..
yes the guy dosent know jac sh if you buy stock and vaule gos down like it did that is ok but if you buy dinar you lost time will tell
Oakie Oil Man swears to Jesus that it will re value at at over $4!!
I have not seen any posts lately on the status of the Iraqi Dinar … I know that a lot of people who have invested in the dinar as speculative currency have not appreciated your honesty about it’s value … but there are many … such as myself who look to you as one of the only sources who will report it like it is … not as the ‘Guru’s’ are maintaining and flower it up…. I have a friend that works over there and he continually maintains that the dinar is not going up for a long time … if ever ….
I tend to believe him and you … although I still hope for the revaluation to one day come and be in my favor ….

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S0gyHoUmrio&feature=player_embedded
There are literally hundreds of positive reports like these...so most figure if Iraq cant get it together eventually...with all that it has going for itself...who can?...Enough said, so go figure!...LOL...
Deb - "I have not seen any posts lately on the status of the Iraqi Dinar … I know that a lot of people who have invested in the dinar as speculative currency have not appreciated your honesty about it’s value … but there are many … such as myself who look to you as one of the only sources who will report it like it is … not as the ‘Guru’s’ are maintaining and flower it up…"
Deb, there are other "RV" scam-debunking sites out there. Ignore the provocative domain-name of the website below - it's actually a very thorough & honest fact-based site that debunks the trash "RV guru's" come out with, and explains how the Dinar works in the real-world:-
http://dinardouchebags.blogspot.co.uk/2013/03/march-update.html
It also digs deep into other scams run by same chronically dishonest "guru's", eg, Breitling's pumping of a MLM real estate scam (shut down by the SEC), "Phoenix's" links to CMKX penny-stock fraud, conman Roger Dorman's ("Dinar Daddy's") LLC scam pumping (and recent advertising of conman Porter Stansberry who was fined $1.5m by the SEC for defrauding investors by inventing "secret intel" (sound familiar?)), James Wolf ("Adam Montana's" real name) ficticious life history. The list of non-Dinar fraud pumped by these conmen is almost as great as the Dinar scam itself.
You don't like my blog's name? ﴾͡๏̯͡๏﴿
Personally, I think it's very appropriate Sam! It's just that some people get upset by it - usually the same ones who've developed some form of "Stockholm Syndrome" attachment to the conmen 😉
All the best, and keep up your great blog!
Hang in there boys...either the Global Reset...that's on Currencies of course'...will either happen'...or things will change monetarily for all of us in other ways anyway..or possibly until it does happen...so even regardless of the outcome...what will you naysayers do anyway...as you have more to worry about right now if not positioned properly...
Fiscal Cliffs, Budgets, Runaway Inflation...the numbers are staggering...but do these things even matter...it's all a "Paper Shell Game"...hang on for the ride!...lol....
P.S...Ye Ole Dinar is a lookin better everyday!...
Global Reset.... LMAO!!
Some folks are so gullable!!
I may not agree with everything 4aprofit says, but I do have to agree with the fact that there are far bigger things to worry about "IF" there isn't a change in the current direction of our financial system!
All I know is that Iraq has a great deal of oil reserves, several major playing countries are moving back to do business, they are attempting to get out of being bankrupt and pay off Kuwait. Several major US politicians such as Clinton have encouraged investment in to Iraq. The US Govt. is building a billion dollar Embassy in IRAQ/There is a higher plan. Why invest billions of US for a Embassy, if you don't want to secure the place. China is the biggest player, they don't care about risk, they are buying up IRAQ oil because its quality. The US has provided them with cheaper ways to get the oil and also ways to find and dig for most of the oil that has not even been tapped yet. I think in the next 20 years, parts of IRAQ will be like Dubai. Then you will see the value of the dinar rise. It will take time and I am not saying that it will be 3-1 but it will be a better rate than the current one.
Iraq is a goldmine...literally, and not just in oil...but the currency will move, how much I dont know, but it must move IMO...sooner than later..unless the U.S. is going to just keep pumping billions in there for them to operate off of..while we are broke huh?...lol....
Iraq already has projects planned, many in the making and even many already finalized...which are already going to surpass Dubai in "Raw Wealth" as per their resources...Dubai is nothing up side Iraq..as per the wealth and natural resources that Iraq possesses...but until it is all unveiled...most cant or wont be able to see this!...
I agree with much of the post as per their wealth...but no one really knows how soon a revalue of their currency will be...but the U.S. is already going through a devaluation of the U.S. Dollar...(just look at your taxes and then inflation, as some items are twice the costs of what they were a year or so ago)...and it is now said that we may have spent as much as 6 trillion on the Iraqi War, at least as per some new studies...so if we opened Iraq up and propped them up monetarily..would'nt it stand to reason that the U.S. would accomodate off of that wealth and get a boost from it before the U.S. and it's Dollar tanks...or why are we still keeping Iraq afloat?
Did George Bush say, or did he not say...that the Iraqi War would pay for itself!...So how could this be done?...Go figure!..
Iraq does have significant resources, but what makes the current Iraqi dinar 'pitches' a scam; are the overblown projections of the potential for outside profiteering on the currency. The numbers just DO NOT add up on the dinar if there isn't a good old fashioned Re Denomination of their currency.
Re Denomination brings the concept of true fiscal responsibility within reach of the country's economy and secures the resources of the country for the benefit of the population at large. ....This same Re Denomination(and the resulting appreciation) brings a simple multiple or two of return to outside investors, but not the 'pipe dreams' of the gurus. ..Hence the obvious use of the word 'scam'!
...Should any person EVER come up with the missing link as to why the third world economy of Iraq should become the only country on earth to Re Denominate in country, yet redeem outside currency at full value; I will be a convert!
......Until then, this 'Rags to Riches' mantra holds no merit!
Profit, 95% of Iraqs wealth comes from Oil sales which are done mainly in dollars, and some euros. Once again, since you don't seem toanderstand this after years... Iraq recieves dollars and euros for their oil, which is about 95% of their wealth. So how will changing the value of the dinar effect that in any way?
The street value of the dinar is at about 1260, which is proof that the natural pressure on the dinar is for it to DEVALUE, not increase in value.
Read this article. It talks about how the CBI is powerless to even get the street rate back to the official 1160 rate. Yet scammers try to claim they will somehow make it 1:1 soon. It talks about how everyone wants to get rid of their dinar and have dollars. Obviously the people of Iraq are not falling for this scam
http://thecurrencynewshound.com/2013/05/04/islamic-bank-commissioner-actions-taken-by-the-cbi-stood-powerless-to-maintain-usdiqd-exchange-rate/?shared=email&msg=fail
If Iraq were to never have a valuable currency in the future..then why not trash this new high-security features sophisticated currency...even years ago...as you know they have had plenty of time to do that if they wanted to...but no, instead they probably spent more haggling over what to do with the worthless toilet paper than they probably spent making and distributing it...
So, for those that think that there will never be a higher value to the dinar...just due to your own perceptions...remember, always follow the money...we have already been over this numerous times, but some forget fast...but, never, ever, give up, as Winston Churchill used to say'....as with this much smoke...there is always a fire!...
A MUST HEAR FOR ALL THE NAYSAYERS OF THE DINAR!!!....
Breitling Report: Sunday 4/21/2013
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=Zz4ou-19vrg
If you follow the money you'll find that it's going to the dinar dealers and pumpers. And Breitling is a babbling moron. I pity the fool who listens to such drivel.
Scam alert...

Thanks Sam
The problem with some folks or dealers that have gotten in trouble...as well as gave the dinar a black eye'...were those that made promises'...as that's the main issue here...as with any investment!...There is no guarantee in anything..well..there is one...Aint nobody gettin outa here alive'...lol....
On another note...I am literally watching a DV..yes, a Devaluation of the U.S. Dollar right before my eyes....
Let's say I just paid 30% in taxes on every dollar I made..then take that same Dollar and go spend it...where as many items are twice the price that they were even as little as a year ago...now, what do I have left?...And it has'nt ended yet, as inflation is getting worse...
And it's all over the charts and news agencies worldwide, that the U.S. Dollar will be devalued, lose value, fall, etc., etc., etc...while countries are backing themselves with gold now, like the U.S. used to be backed by...And countries are now un-pegging from the U.S. Dollar and the Petro Dollar!..
So, for all these dinar naysayers and experts...tell me what are we to do with the money we have now...that we are losing our arse with?...
This is why folks diversify into other things like foreign currencies...as at least some of these countries have better economies...and/or are at least headed that way, while the U.S.is'nt!...
The mainstream media and the finacial pillars of the community...propped up much of what tanked in the U.S...as per many investors and their losses...as some lost everything...so now they bash the dinar and it has'nt been proven either way..or yet!..How Odd?...
I'll take my chances taking the opposite advice...than that of some of my friends...who listened to some of these same folks...and were financially destroyed by doing so!...
It may take dynamite to move us out of our dinars and/or other currencies, and even other investments...but it is'nt taking dynamite right now to get our dollars from us...it's just survival for many..while watching the dollar tank right before their very eyes..so however it turns out...what's the difference..if your losing with the dollar already, while not being told about the delimna that the dollar is facing...by the same d*mn media?...How Odd?...
Profit... this is the devaluation you should be watching.
"5-14-13 Zawya / AIN / Baghdad – The price of the US dollar in the local markets reached 1,300 Iraqi dinars, compared to 1220 dinars in mid-March and represents a significant reduction of the Iraqi dinar’s value since the two last years."

Just a thought. Pre war the dinar was worth $3+ sanctions knock it down to 1/10 of a cent. That wealth didn't just evaporate, it was just squashed under political pressure.
ITTC....Iraq Trade Information Center
And older but interesting article....This was posted on their web site, that there are no restrictions on buying the dinar, does'nt no restrictions mean no restrictions, maybe a link to keep in case you ever are told by anyone you shoudnt have any dinars, or that it is a scam....
IraqITIC.com - Policy Environment:
Fiscal Policy
In order to develop a strong fiscal base Iraq has followed the following policy direction:
•By creating the Board of Supreme Audit, Iraq has shown its commitment to financial transparency.
•In order to pursue sound fiscal management and rationalize the process of public debt management, the Financial Management Law and the Public Debt Law have been passed.
In addition to creating a sound regulatory environment, the following important steps have been taken:
•The introduction of a balanced budget
•The introduction of Treasury Bills
•The Introduction of a progressive Income Tax regime
•A simplified and reduced Custom duties structure
•In order to put the country on a sound financial footing, Iraq has carried out a major reduction in its international debt
Monetary Policy:
In order to create the basis of a sound monetary policy environment the most significant step has been the formation of an independent central bank viz. the Central bank of Iraq (CBI), on March 6, 2004, as an independent regulatory authority. It performs monetary functions, manages foreign reserves, acts as the government's banker and fiscal agent, issues currency, establishes and maintains systems for clearing and settlement of payment transactions, and supervises private banks.
The New Iraqi Dinar (NID) - a free floating currency - was introduced in January 2004 together with a new monetary control system. There are no restrictions or taxes on the purchase or sale of currency; the CBI carries out a regular currency auction in order to stabilize the exchange rate, which now stands around 1300 NID to the US $. The NID is fully convertible and there are no restrictions on capital flows.
There is a multi-currency system in place where foreign currency freely circulates in the market. As a result checks are officially cleared at the CBI in all major foreign currencies, particularly the US$.
Interest rates stand liberalized on all domestic financial instruments, inflation has been stabilized and the capital base of private banks stands significantly enhanced.
Foreign banks may open branches and form joint ventures with Iraqi private sector banks. Under CPA Order No. 94 private sector banks may be wholly owned by foreign banks with no legal limit on the number of licenses that may be granted. Also, branches and domestic subsidiaries of foreign banks are legally at par with Iraqi banks.

The United Nation’s Security Council Recently Made This Very Important Statement!
The United Nation’s Council would welcome in the draft resolution’s preambular part aka; [PREPARATORY STATEMENT] both Iraq and Kuwait’s efforts to advance regional stability, and “all the positive steps that have been taken by the Government of Iraq to fulfill resolution 833 of 1993″ related to the border between the two neighbouring countries.
THE MOST TANGIBLE WRITTEN STATEMENT THAT THE IMPORTANCE OF THE IQD TO BE RESTORED TO PRE 1990 INTERNATIONAL STANDING, TO DATE, HAS BEEN MADE BY THE UNITED NATION’S SECURITY COUNCIL ON JUNE 26, 2013.
Quote:
The United Nation’s Council would recognize that the situation existing now in Iraq is “significantly different” from when the Saddam regime invaded Kuwait in August 1990, and the “importance of Iraq achieving international standing EQUAL” to that which it held prior to that date. Then The IQD Was $3.22 to $1 USD.
Quote:
Most hit & run sites on the Internet claim Iraqi Dinar scams are made by boasting the exact same thing THAT The United Nation’s Security Council just stated above about how important it is to Iraq In ACHIEVING [Pre 1990 International Standing].
EXAMPLE 1:
In their attempt to discredit the Dinars ~ they state that The IQDs are sold on misleading hype.
A) They state;
Many dinar dealers refer to the value of the Iraqi dinar prior to the 1990 Kuwaiti invasion (1 dinar = $3+ US Dollars) as evidence that the potential for the dinar is theoretically unlimited.
The United Nations Security Council Just Said The Exact Same Thing Above!!
B) They state;
They don’t mention that the pre-1990 dinar has been demonetized (worthless) and that its value was arbitrarily set by an autocratic regime led by Saddam Hussein.
This is an incoherent ad hoc statement towards Pre 1990 International Standing. The Dinar became worthless due to war , due to being attacked by The U.S. Nothing else in the financial world can change the fact that Pre 1990 IQD was $3.22 PERIOD!
C) They state;
Following the embargo, the ability for the Iraqi government to manage its currency’s value collapsed and it spent the next 10 years at 2,000 – 3, 500 dinars to the U.S. Dollar.
Again another unlink-able incoherent ad hoc statement towards Pre 1990 International Standing. The Dinar became worthless due to war , due to being attacked by The U.S. Nothing else in the financial world can change the fact that Pre 1990 IQD was $3.22 to $1 USD PERIOD!
These [ Dump Sites/ Hit & Run Sites ] are unbelievably incoherent! Especially, when they try to discredit common knowledge about Iraq’s Return to Pre-1990 Dinars as Hype! Nothing could be a truer statement by a dealer than to state ‘EQUAL’ to Pre-1990 and when supported by The United Nation’s Security Council’s statement that this is the goal when then affirmed again within the “draft resolution’s preambular part”.
Tell the Anti-Dinar Scam Propagandists to think first.
Timing and upon what for IQD release?
Does this all mean that Iraq needs to be fully released from Chapter 7 for their IQD to be released for International Standings? IOWs, Do they need to be fully sovereign to release their IQD for International Standings?

Iraq Investment Booming, Economic Future Bright

The contrast between life and business is extreme in Iraq. On the one hand, hundreds of people still die every month from terrorist attacks. On the other hand, business and investment are flourishing. The most recent success: Citigroup will be the first American bank to open a branch in Iraq, slated for sometime this year.
“U.S. companies, such as Citi, are demonstrating tremendous commitment to Iraq. Our companies bring capital and expertise, world-leading technology, and innovative management and financing practices,” said Stephen Beecroft, the United States ambassador to Iraq, at a reception June 26, 2013, according to Iraq Business News. Along with the planned bank branch in Baghdad, Citigroup is talking about $1 trillion in infrastructure investment
Mayank Malik, chief executive officer for Citigroup for Jordan, Iraq, Syria, and the Palestinian territories told Bloomberg news: “Iraq is a giant that’s waking up and the opportunities are immense … The most significant opportunities are twofold—oil revenue generation and infrastructure creation. We estimate this to be a $1 trillion initiative over time.”
In Iraq, economic development mainly centers on oil exploration and production. According to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the country has the second largest oil reserves in the world. An estimated 143 billion barrels are in the ground in Iraq; the country produced 3.1 million barrels per day in 2012. Exports amounted to 2.1 million, according to the Ministry of Oil.
Investment in oil and infrastructure and the knock-on effects will boost economic growth to 9 percent this year, according to the IMF; much faster than the global average of 2 percent. In turn, the government has increased budget spending by 18 percent to $118 billion.
The IMF also states Iraq needs further reconstruction and investment in social institutions such as education, security and health care to provide a better business environment. Most of this estimated $1 trillion expansion will be funded by bank loans.
Consequently, as economic prospects get better, international banks are entering a market where large profits are expected. According to Singapore-based Sansar Capital Management LLC, the five largest private banks in Iraq increased their net-income by more than 200 percent from 2010 to 2012.
In addition to Citigroup, British bank Standard Chartered is also going to open branches in the cities of Baghdad, Basra and Erbil this year. “The amount of economic activity in Iraq now is substantial. We always wanted to be onshore in Iraq. It was never a question of if but a question of when,” the bank’s regional head Christos Papadopoulos told Reuters.
Despite the positive long-term outlook, it’s not going to be easy, notes the IMF: “Iraq’s economic prospects continue to be subject to significant risks, deriving mainly from institutional and capacity constraints, oil prices volatility, delays in the development of oil infrastructure, and an extremely fragile political and security situation.”

Maliki: We removed the last obstacle to Iraq to exercise effective role
29/06/2013 12:00 AM
Called on the nations of the world to build bridges of friendship and the fight against terrorism and extremism
Baghdad morning
Counting Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki Iraq would emerge from Chapter international decisions under the provisions of Chapter VII "remove the last obstacle" to Iraq to exercise its outer regional and international levels as a full international civil society.
Nevertheless, the Prime Minister stressed that what is left for the government at the domestic level is not easy, and it needs to work hard and long.
He called on al-Maliki in a speech marking vote the Security Council to remove Iraq from Chapter VII speech yesterday evening (Thursday), all countries in the region and the world to extend the hand of friendship, stressing the ability of Iraq and Kuwait to overcome the difficulties and enable them to re-bridges of confidence after all the devastation left by the occupation the dictatorial regime of the State of Kuwait.
The following is the text of a speech the Prime Minister:
"I congratulate all the Iraqi people in this historic day which saw the withdrawal of Iraq from the international sanctions of the provisions of Chapter VII.
It's a new day sun emerged to remove from the face of Iraq and Iraqis tired of years of dust and shaking him painful memories associated with international sanctions and blockade and the loss of sovereignty and opens him broad prospects and broad hopes for a better tomorrow.
Here are the constraints break down and crippling international resolutions become of the past and go forever to recover and people of Iraq its humanitarian and outstanding cultural and natural relations with the countries of the world.
So what was to happen not for your patience and your support & Oukovkm Dear honorable Iraqis to by the government and its efforts to win the confidence of the world again and to return Iraq to its normal international status.
Dear sisters and brothers, dear ..
The move came out of Iraq under international sanctions subject to the provisions of Chapter VII complement what has been achieved at an earlier stage of Iraq's dependence on itself and its armed forces and dispense foreign forces in carrying the burden of responsibility for security and the departure of the last of these forces soldier at the end of the year 2011.
What were these major achievements possible without the support enjoyed by the government and the Iraqi negotiator of people who آزرنا, despite waves of propaganda and jamming attempts have been made to deprive Iraqis of touch these great achievements سيذكرها the history of all Iraqis proudly.
Here, I can say: that what has been achieved today to remove Iraq from Chapter international decisions under the provisions of Chapter VII knocked another obstacle to Iraq to exercise its outer regional and international levels as a full international civil society.
But what remains ahead of us at the domestic level is not easy it is hard work and long and can describe and say that we went out far from the lesser jihad to the greater jihad any reform internal situation and unify the floor and make the unity of Iraq and the interests of the nation above the interests of the community and the National Party.
And considering the service of the citizen and the provision of free and dignified life to him is the main objective of all politicians and prior to this and that the provision of security and stability that can not do anything without them.

Hey Stew....Whats your opinion with this one? Scammer or delusional dreamer?
Well. I read that last paragraph and I saw absolutely nothing referring to a huge RV. Maybe Profit can point out exactly what he was talking about. Or what Kraperoni told him it meant.
He also still doesn’t understand that when people talk about “investing in Iraq”, they are not talking about speculating on the currency.
With all this great news of late. Iraq out of Chapter VII and Iranian elections… we see the dinar soared in value. It has soared in value to where it almost back to the CBI’s official value.
1200:1 Let's party!!
Hang in there....but it may hurt your feelings if something good and/or big happens with this toilet paper valued currency, while a new multi trillion dollar infrastructure is coming online with the world!...lol...
