Iraq Closes Border Crossings with Jordan

An official source has told the Jordan News Agency, Petra, that the Iraq government had informed Jordanian authorities of its decision to close border crossings between Iraq and Jordan until further notice.

The source urged passengers and drivers who want to travel to Iraq not to head to the border crossings until a new decision is issued by the Iraqi authorities to re-open the borders with Jordan.

The main border crossing between the countries is at Al Karamah / Traibil [Turaybeel, Tirbil, Tarbiel, Trebil] (pictured).
