The Iraqi Government has said it will reduce the salaries of ministers, members of parliament, and senior officials by up to 50 percent, and invest the money saved in a new social security fund to support Iraqis in need.
In a statement on Friday, it also announced the establishment of a special anti-corruption court to expedite the process of holding to account all those who engage in corruption.

sir,
a step in the right direction! however, bigger & braver steps are needed now to quieten the protestors or the consequences will not be positive for GOI.
Iraqis are fed-up and have lost all hopes for reforms from the ruling parties who cheat, steel, betray and lie.
we still hope the GOI to act and not wasting more time which is running against them!
Reducing salaries from what to what?
Is there a public information about salaries and bonuses and benefits government officials get each month, and pension amounts when they leave public service?
