German firm HORN Glass Industries AG, the has signed a contract with Al Rida Investment to build a new float glass plant in Najaf, with a production capacity of 800 tonnes per day.
The plant will be equipped with the latest technology and is intended to contribute to expanding glass production capacity in the region.
Financing for the project has been arranged in cooperation with Commerzbank and the AKA Ausfuhrkredit-Gesellschaft, providing the basis for the project's implementation.
Delivery of the plant equipment is planned for 2027, with commissioning of the new facility expected in 2028.
Ekaterina Firsova, Executive Director Glass Plant Technology at HORN Glass Industries AG, told the company that she was pleased with the cooperation with Al Rida Investment, Commerzbank and the AKA Ausfuhrkredit-Gesellschaft, adding that the new plant would make an important contribution to the development of Iraq's glass industry.
