The National Investment Commission (NIC) has held discussions with representatives of German consultancy firm Schlegel and Partners on potential investment and advisory cooperation across several sectors in Iraq.
The meeting, attended by officials from the Muthanna Investment Commission, covered the firm's areas of specialisation and explored cooperation prospects in the advisory field. Topics included possible participation in the Prime Minister's initiative for modern urban and sustainable residential cities, a proposed model for developing such cities, and opportunities for German companies to enter the industrial and investment sectors in Iraq.
The two sides also discussed the possibility of concluding cooperation agreements for Iraq's reconstruction through investment arrangements under sovereign guarantees. Adel Dakhil Muhammad al-Yasiri, head of the NIC, affirmed Iraq's openness to major international companies investing across development sectors, and underlined the facilitations and guarantees available under Iraqi investment law.
The meeting was also attended by Haider Hammada, Director General of the Relations and Media Department at the NIC.
