The National Investment Commission (NIC) has held a preliminary meeting with a delegation from Ecolog International, which it says is a "German company headquartered in the Netherlands", to discuss potential investment cooperation in Iraq.
According to the NIC, the meeting was chaired by commission head Adel Dakhil Muhammad al-Yasiri, with the director-general of the NIC's economic and technical department also in attendance. Al-Yasiri outlined available investment opportunities, particularly in infrastructure development, road construction and transport networks, as well as advanced technologies for glass manufacturing and sustainable vertical farming.
Al-Yasiri briefed the delegation on incentives available to foreign investors under Iraqi investment law, including tax and customs exemptions, land ownership and usufruct arrangements, and guarantees on the repatriation of capital and profits.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to open communication and coordination channels between the two parties, with a view to studying specific projects and laying the groundwork for future investment partnerships.
The company describes itself as, "providing services and solutions in a wide range of environments, including some of the world's most remote and challenging locations," with a, "determination to create and maintain comfort, even in a daily changing environment and to provide our customers with customized turnkey solutions."
