Iraq's Small Business Support Fund to Improve Loan Access

Iraq's Small Business Support Fund has held a board meeting to review procedures for issuing loans and improve support for small business owners. The meeting took place at the premises of the Department of Labour and Vocational Training, which falls under the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs.

According to the Ministry of Trade, the meeting discussed the fund's activities, direct support mechanisms for entrepreneurs, and implementation of Directive No. 2 of 2025. Participants also reviewed measures to simplify lending requirements and accelerate loan processing times.

The meeting was chaired by Osama Majid Al-Khafaji, Director General of the Department of Labour and Vocational Training, and was attended by Dr. Hana Ismail Al-Asadi, Deputy Minister of Planning, along with the directors general of industrial development, the Industrial Bank, and the administrative department of the Ministry of Youth, as well as representatives of relevant bodies and board members. Dr. Malik Khalaf Al-Durai'i, Director General of the Department of Private Sector Development at the Ministry of Trade, also participated.
