Iraq and Oman Sign Anti-Corruption Agreement

Iraq and Oman have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on bilateral cooperation in integrity promotion and anti-corruption, on the sidelines of the Sixth Session of the States Parties to the Arab Anti-Corruption Convention in Doha, Qatar.

The MoU was signed by Dr Mohammed Ali Al-Lami, President of the Federal Commission of Integrity, and Sheikh Ghassan bin Hilal Al-Alawi, head of Oman's State Financial and Administrative Oversight Authority.

The agreement covers:

• Exchange of expertise and information on anti-corruption strategies and policies
• Sharing of studies on preventive measures against corruption
• Exchange of experience in handling complaints and reports
• Follow-up on mutual legal assistance requests and international asset recovery files
• Cooperation on financial disclosure systems, conflict-of-interest avoidance, and integrity mechanisms
• Exchange of training courses, workshops, and academic research
