A Swiss company called Main Power Engineering has held discussions with Iraq's National Investment Commission (NIC) on a proposed integrated complex for the manufacture of high-technology electrical equipment in Iraq.
The meeting, chaired by NIC head Adel Dakhil Muhammad al-Yasiri, covered the strategic and financial aspects of a project that would establish a full-cycle facility for the design, manufacture and testing of oil-immersed high-voltage transformers, dry-type industrial transformers, semiconductor devices, and switching systems.
According to the NIC, the project also envisages a high-voltage testing facility to certify both domestically produced and imported equipment.
Also attending were the directors-general of the Relations and Media Department and the Economic and Technical Department at the NIC.
