Petronas, short for Petroliam Nasional Berhad, is a Malaysian oil and gas company founded in 1974. Wholly owned by the Government of Malaysia, the corporation is vested with the entire oil and gas resources in Malaysia and is entrusted with the responsibility of developing and adding value to these resources.

It is ranked among Fortune Global 500's largest corporations in the world.

Fields in Iraq: Badra, Garraf, Halfaya. Was granted a share in the Majnoon field in 2009, but relinquished it to Basra Oil Company (BOC) in 2018.

July 2023: Rumours that Petronas is in negotiations to sell its stake in the Garraf field to Pertamina.
