Iraq's Ministry of Electricity and Siemens have signed a Principles of Cooperation Agreement on energy in Iraq, covering a fourth phase of collaboration between the two parties.
The signing ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.
Al-Zaidi also met separately in Berlin with Siemens Chief Executive Christian Bruch to discuss expanding cooperation in the energy sector. The Prime Minister noted opportunities to upgrade and develop distribution and transmission networks, and to diversify electricity generation sources beyond gas to include other fuel sources.
