A proposal to develop a $250 million hotel complex managed by the Kempinski hotel chain has been discussed with the National Investment Commission (NIC). The meeting was held between NIC Chairman Adel Dakhil Muhammad al-Yasiri and an investment delegation led by businessman Jawad al-Qassab.
The preliminary plan envisages allocating 20 to 30 dunams of land for an integrated hotel comprising rooms, villas, and residential apartments, along with dedicated conference and events facilities.
Al-Qassab and his partners have existing hospitality investments including the Kempinski Hotel Dead Sea and the Kempinski Hotel Aqaba in Jordan, as well as projects in Saudi Arabia, Switzerland, Canada, and the United Arab Emirates. Within Iraq, al-Qassab is involved in the Al-Kawthar Residential Complex in Babil governorate.
The NIC stated its commitment to providing the necessary facilities and support to complete the project to the highest standards.
