No, sir. It is closed Monday and Tuesday. And every year the restaurant is closed for two weeks in the month of August so that we can go on vacation. God willing. |

I'm Iraqi sttudent in Egypt. Iraqi Arabic is a variety of Standard Arabic, but it's itself has sub-varieties. These are mosuli iraqi arabic, where 'q' is pronounced, the baghdadi iraqi arabic, where 'g' is prounced, and southern iraqi arabic where 'j' is pronounced. '' i said to him'' in english will be '' qiltillu'' in mosuli arabic, '' gutle'' in baghdadi arabic, and '' gitla'' in southern sub-variety. there are also other morphological and phonological differences. these sub-varieties are intelligible and understood and recognizable in the same time. but, it's good that if someone wants to learn iraqi arabic s/he chooses baghdadi iraqi arabic, because it's understood and because baghdad encompasses most local sub-cultures. i remember back at 2004, i taught some american service members a few phrases and they liked. i taught them the subvariety spoken in baghdad.
